Too Many Warnings

My family and my friends,

Tried to warn me about you.

I wanted to listen and yet, I didn’t,

I didn’t know what to do.

Do I choose my family, my friends?

Do I choose them or you?

God give me a sign,

Give me a clue.

I rushed through the days,

Not knowing what to do.

Then suddenly one day,

I thought of you.

I never cried,

I never sobbed.

But thinking of you,

That did it all.

Everyone was right,

And I was wrong.

For now and always,

So long.

You broke my heart,

And left me there.

You leaving me for her

Was something I couldn’t bear.

Every time I heard your name,

Every time I saw your face,

All that would happen

Is my heart would race.

I tried to forget you,

Leave you behind.

But somehow, some reason,

I couldn’t get you from my mind.

But you did me a favor,

You helped me to see

How tragic life is,

How hard it can be.

Thank you my friend,

For what you have done.

Before this is all over,

I will have already won.
