Animal Abuse: Is It Right?

Every year a little over two million animals are slaughtered. I personally don’t think animal abuse is right, and I don’t think it can ever be fully stopped. People will always take their frustrations from their day out on an animal by abuse. As long as people live on this earth, animals will be abused, and honestly, we have done so much about it already we can’t do much more. There will always be mean animal abusers in this world.
Is it right? Some students don’t have opinions about this topic while others are completely against it. Shane Allen explained,”Animal abuse sucks, but isn’t killing an animal for food animal abuse too?” That’s a very good and contridictable point. I personally don’t eat meat, but I also think you have the right to choose what you do. It’s a free country, and if you want to eat meat that’s your perogative! Some people would say that eating meat is a part of survival! I choose not to eat meat.
Are animal rescue shelters enough? I don’t think so because people are always going to abuse animals no matter what the law or anyone else says. Kim Dial explains,”In a perfect world yes, animal rescue would be enough, but in the real world, NO!” That is so; true animal rescue has already done as much as possible; yet there are still people abusing animals.
Do students today actually care about animal abuse? Some students do actually care about animal abuse like me and several people I know. Brittney Cain said,” Yes, kids today do care because some kids only have their animals for friends.” That is correct! Some kids choose to be anti-social, but talk to their animals. I see nothing wrong with that. I think that it depends on if you grow up around animals or not. Brandon King disagrees when he states, ” I don’t think kids today actually think about animal abuse and stuff, let alone care.” I have to disagree. Kids today do think and care about animal abuse. Not all students think only about their boyfriends and girlfriends. Kids do care.
Do you think animal shelters should make sure animals are going to good homes when they are adopted? Yes, I think we should make sure that animals are given to good homes where they are cared and loved for at all times! Lindsey Perritt felt strongly about this subject: “Animals should be given to good homes. Too many people in this world are mean and hateful. Animals have feelings just like us and deserve good homes just like adopted children. Yes, we should make sure these animals are adopted into good homes. Animals are better than people anyway!” Lindsey, I completely agree. Animals deserve the right to good homes just like orphans and foster children.
This article completely proved that students care and are against animal abuse. Facts prove that ninety-seven percent of animals are smarter than the average college student! Animals deserve to live in this world just like every other human around us everyday of our lives! Animals deserve the same respect as any human! Save the animals! Contact any animal shelter if you are a witness or have ever witnessed animal abuse. Animals deserve to live!
