Information sheet for Seniors

Class of 2009

 

Please read the information below for items that apply to the events of the last several weeks of school. Please pay close attention to these dates and times-this is the only reminder you will receive.

 

There will be three (3) programs/ceremonies in which seniors will participate:

Thursday-May 28th                   Senior Awards Night             Dinner at 6 pm; awards at 7 pm

Sunday, May 31st                     Baccalaureate Service           7 pm

Friday, June 5th                         Graduation                             7 pm

 

Dress Code:

Ladies— black dress with black dress shoes (Remember, you will be walking up and down steps!)

Men—White shirt, dark tie, black dress pants, black dress shoes

*The same dress or pants/shirt/tie may be worn for all three programs.

 

*Cap and gown are worn at Baccalaureate Service and Graduation. Ladies, make sure you sew your collar into your gown.

*Suggestion-hang up your cap and gown about a week before graduation so the wrinkles will fall out. DO NOT use an iron on your gown; it will melt or burn very easily!  

 

Dates of practice, exams, and programs

Wednesday-May 27                 4th block-practice for Awards and Baccalaureate Service

Thursday-May 28                     6 pm Senior dinner—7pm Senior awards program

*Each senior will receive 2 tickets for the senior dinner/only two guests per senior. Others may attend the awards ceremony which begins at 7 pm.

Sunday-May 31             Baccalaureate Service—7pm; seniors arrive by 6:20

Tuesday-June 2             3rd & 4th block exams-seniors only

Wednesday-June 3                   1st and 2nd block exams—seniors only

Thursday-June 4                       1st & 2nd block exams—underclassmen

Thursday-June 4                       Senior field day 8:25-1:00

Thursday-June 4                       Graduation practice—2 pm gym

Friday-June 5                            3rd and 4th block exams-underclassmen

Graduation at 7 pm; seniors be here by 6 pm

 

Tickets for graduation:

Each senior will receive 8 tickets. All monies due to AHS must be paid before tickets are issued. This includes parking tickets, lunch room fees, textbook fees, yearbooks, athletic uniforms, etc…). All fees due must be cleared up by the end of school Tuesday, June 2nd. Tickets will be given out at the end of graduation practice.  ALL SENIORS are required to participate in graduation practice!

 

**Participation in Baccalaureate Service is voluntary.
