On March 26, 2009, some of the chorus students went to Columbia to participate in the State Festival Competition. They sang against thirteen other A and AA schools. They had to sing a few songs and also do sight singing. On sight singing, they scored a superior, and in the singing competition, they scored first place out of all of the thirteen groups. The songs they sung were called “Gloria”, “Hold On”, and “Earth Song”. Mrs. Ward said, “They had a lot of fun, and the competition was amazing.” She also replied by saying, “When they heard the first word of their name, they screamed their heads off.” Mrs. Ward is very proud of them and very excited that they won first place. Congratulations to the chorus.
