Seniors, Attention! An Editorial

Class of ’09 and administrators listen up! A few of us seniors are feeling as if we are getting treated differently than those who have come before us. We feel seniors should have more privileges than they do now. In the past,  we have seen that seniors have had it easier than it is now. The Class of ’09 wants our last year to be one that we will never forget. Even though the economy is bad, that doesn’t mean our year has to be boring. School is supposed to be a place where students should learn and have a little bit of fun. Being a senior is enjoyable to students because they have accomplished something big, and it is their last year. Seniors are just asking for a little bit more fun to end our year. Our senior year could get better by letting us have fun in class. We sit in class and learn the whole time. Learning is good, but seniors have experienced this for three years straight. What is the point of us taking something serious when our heads are in books all of the time? We could have a pep rally, take affordable field trips, and get back some our privileges. I know the reason for not having pep rallies, but in order for students to participate in pep rallies, they have to be interesting and fun. The only privilege that we have now is leaving three minutes early for lunch. We can not use the senior doors. And, when we have assemblies, undergraduates should have to stand for us. Seniors feel as if we are being treated like undergraduates. We want back some of our privileges!
