Recently, Aynor High School’s Marcus Smith was invited to participate in the North-South All-star Game for basketball. Out of the 48 participants chosen from North and South Carolina, Smith was one of the two finalists chosen from the Grand Strand area. The game took place on March 21st at North Myrtle Beach High School. Prior to the game, Marcus was recognized for making the class AA All-State Team. Smith earned a total of 16 points during the game, and immediately afterwards, many scouts from outstanding colleges such as UCLA, The University of Southern California, Wake Forest, and Winthrop talked with him.
During this season, Marcus has excelled and accomplished many goals. One of these accomplishments was receiving the Hoop Zone award representing the Grand Strand by earning 1,000 points in his high school career. Congratulations, Marcus, and good luck playing college basketball!
