Region Champions

    The Aynor High School Golf team played in the Region Championship on April 27, 2009.  All of the players were allowed to be excused from school to go to Black Bear Golf Course for the day to compete in the Region Championship; The teams represented were Aynor, Loris, Marion, and Cheraw.  Aynor was the winner.  The teams played the top five varsity boys, but only the top four scores out of each teams group counted.  The rest of the team was allowed to play, hit balls on the driving range, or just watch the varsity boys play.  The team first went to Shoney’s to eat breakfast after leaving school at 8:30 AM.  Then, they went to the golf course to practice before the match.  The five groups of players consisted of four people, one from each team.  The players had to play 18 holes and finished around 6:00 PM.  The players then received a free supper at the golf course and were allowed to ride the bus back to Aynor or have a parent/guardian pick them up.
