NEW YORK, New York –
Taylor Swift’s first MTV Video Music Awards win was one to remember. Swift picked up her first Moonman on Sunday night for Best Female Video for “You Belong to Me”, but she didn’t have the chance to finish her speech thanks to Kayne West who came on the stage, taking the mike, and interrupting her. Kayne’s outburst went like this, “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’m [going to] let you finish — but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time”
Earning the boos of the crowd as Beyonce looked shocked in the audience. West was kicked out of the ceremony shortly after his interruption. Taylor had lots of support from the crowd and fellow nominees, including Pink, Spencer Pratt, Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson.
At the end when Beyonce won the best video of the year with her hit “Single Ladies”, she commented on how excited she was when she won her first award when the Destiny’s Child group was still together, kindly she invited Taylor back on stage to finish her speech.
Kayne had apologized for his actions several times, even personally calling Swift, who forgives the singer for his cruel actions at the MTV 2009 VMA’s.
